CLICK THE CATEGORIES BELOW FOR POLICY SOLUTIONS
The six boxes below represent my policy platform and roadmap for a progressive and equitable city. Clicking on a box will take you to page that gives an in-depth look at my priorities around each of these topics.
These ideas represent best practices from around the world. St. Louis needs to change, but it doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel. With me as mayor, the city will find good ideas that have been put in place elsewhere, retool them to make them work here, and then let them roll. The city will also make sure that the documents and recommendations created for St. Louis by St. Louisans, like the Ferguson Report, the For the Sake of All Report, the Sustainability Plan, and the ongoing study of the city’s resiliency will not sit on a shelf to gather dust.
I hope you find something in this platform that resonates with you. Most of the ideas will not require new revenue, but instead will require us to make different spending choices. Some, though, will require new revenue. For that reason, I strongly support the sales tax initiative that is planned for April’s ballot unless it is tied to stadium funding. While sales taxes are inherently regressive, they are one of the few ways to share the costs with a base larger than city residents.
I look forward to hearing your feedback, and then getting to work together to turn these ideas into a reality in St. Louis.
